Hegseth

In all likelihood you will have seen the recent performance by Secretary of Defense (aka,
Secretary of War) Hegseth. His on stage performance before an assembly of Pentagon brass
has been widely reported. The coverage has not been favorable.

Without question, there is much to criticize. Peggy Noonan’s excellent WSJ article does an
admirable job of pointing out the flaws of Hegseth’s performance and, more importantly, the
underlying issues.

Clearly, the adverse focus on Secretary Hegseth’s conduct is justified. But all this will pass as
other transgressions surface. And we know that they will.

Before you move on, there are two questions that ought to be asked of Secretary Hegseth.
One, how would you perform in today’s military physical readiness test? And two, how would
you look as a “dude in a dress?”

For the sake of our country, we hope that the answers would be “adequate” and “not so good.”
